Location: Prescott, MI | I'm looking to buy a LQ trailer and would like to know if anyone has any experience trailering large warmbloods in slant loads? I currently have a straightload warmblood size trailer, but it seems most LQ trailers are slants... Am looking at 8' wide trailers with mangers. Can't seem to find specs on the stall sizes (length in particular) on any of the manufacturer websites. Any help appreciated! Thanks! |

Location: western PA | Many trailer manufacturers offer "Warm blood" sizes as an option. They offer a larger height, with wider and longer stalls. The stall angle will determine the overall length of the stall. You can have a long and wide slant load stall, in a narrow width trailer. The trade off is the necessity of requiring a longer floor length, then that of a wider trailer. Many trailer owners concerned with short stall lengths opt against the use of mangers. |

Location: Prescott, MI | Thank you, gard, for the response. I'd kind of like to get one with mangers for the extra storage underneath them. How would the manger interfere with the length? I was thinking it would only be the neck and head over the manger area anyway, so it wouldn't matter? Was just at Equine Affair down in Ohio, saw lots of manufacturers and lots of models...but nobody advertised as "warmblood size", which surprised me. Looking at 8ft wide, and 7'6" tall, but even so, I'd like to know the specs on trailer length and am having a hard time finding them. Do you have a large warmblood that you trailer in a slant load? If so, was it roomy enough for the horse? What are the specs on your trailer, and what is the make & model? Thanks again! |

Location: santa clara, ca | I have a draft horse that I haul in a slant: he's close to 18h and 2,000 lbs. Our trailer is 7'8" tall with stalls that are 50" wide on the wall (can't remember the angle nor stall lengh but should be 140" or more). The trailer (non-LQ) is a 3h build on a 4h plan. Before we had a big-horse we just used two stalls (w/o the divider) for himI think Logan and Sundowner have failry large stalls |
