| So I am officially the proud owner of a 1988 2 horse Trail-Et gooseneck with dressing room! I'm super excited but it does need a bunch of little things fixed. (Frame sprayed, weatherstripping, pressure washing, wood on ramp re-done, wiring, all new lights, etc) but structurally she's completely sound. Just needs maintenance. I payed $2,200 and the guy was asking $2,900. Good price or neigh? I know these trailers are still going for a lot and are pretty popular. How much do you think it would be worth completely redone? It's in great shape for its age. Just needs some maintenance. Also, it's just shy of 6 foot wide (it's about 5'7). Do you think an 1200 pound 15 hand paint would fit? I'm sure he will. Just wish it was 6 ft wide. Any input about these trailers would be awesome or if anyone has any websites that sell things to restore trailers would be great! |

Location: high desert, CA. | A lot depends on where you live.Here that same trailer would bring perhaps $700, to $1000, and if the ramps need work, as well as several other things, it may not be structurally sound. Instead when you get into repair and upgrade be a nightmare. Or it could be just cosmetic, and no big deal. That is an OOOOld trailer, and while many are still in service, perhaps not as much of a gem as another. |

| I'm in Ny. I've noticed that trial ets are still very expensive and fairly popular. I found one 88 BP for $3000 and I looked at an 89 2h slant with tack room BP for $3200 awhile ago. I also found another 88 BP for $6000 on Craigslist. |

Location: Lockport, Illinois | I have an 88 Trailet that lost it rear axle when I went over a curb. The frame is 16 ga. metal, not angle iron. Since then I have head of several Trailet trailers being scrapped because of the frame. I will never put any of my horses in a Trailet. |

| I think you probably did OK price-wise. While it might be possible to get one comparably priced somewhere for $700-1000, I haven't seen anything in that price range that isn't a rust bucket. I've been watching for a 3-horse bumper pull that we can use when we don't take our gooseneck LQ trailer, and haven't seen anything that cheap. If it's structurally sound, and only needs some little things here & there, and it's what you want, it is worth it. By the way, our living quarters trailer is an '88. It's big, structurally sound, and really nice inside, IMHO. |

| There's barely any rust. We gutted the inside today and took out te divider, padding, mats, etc. plan to POR the small rust spots. Frame has surface rust but that's it. Gonna take up the boards and paint the frame and lay down new boards. Literally in NY (and surrounding states) trail ets are sold for big $$ and barely on the market for long.

Location: western PA | Check the inside of the frame angle where the walls meet the flooring in the stall area. If this hasn't been regularly cleaned and flushed, it will almost certainly be rusted. It will be more prevalent on the butt side. |

| Yeah, we checked there yesterday. There's some surface rust but not anything really bad. They stored hay inside the trailer so it's really dirty inside and needs a good wash new stripped it last night and took out all matting, padding, divider, etc. and we are going to pressure wash the inside with bleach/water and then paint the frame and lay down new boards. | Sorry those links didnt work bthese should. Now the trailer is a weird size. It's 7'4 tall from floor mats to the roof and 5'10 wide from wall to wall inside.
