Location: MD | Looking for a 14' awning for my trailer. I can not find any details of how they attach, or more important how the unit is "flashed". In other words, is there a 14' long piece of flashing the attaches to the roof that goes over the unit? or does water run off the trailer roof behind the uit and down the trailer wall?? Thanks, Nick |

Location: Florida | In short... There is a channel that is screwed to the trailer's side wall closest to the roof, the awning then slides into that channel. The awning itself has the flashing that unrolls with the awning, that flashing is the cover you see on awnings when rolled up. So with that said, you just have to seal that channel and the lower brackets that hold the legs to the wall when installing. Better awnings have metel flashing, cheaper ones have plastic flashing.
