Due to my having a brain fart and not keeping my LQ from freezing in recent winter temps, I ended up needing to replace my water pump. On line, I found some hints to also make it more quiet, and applied some of those tips, and they really cut down the noise level. Thought I would share the tips.Replace the hard plastic lines to pump with "soft" hoses. Use 18 to 20" and put a loop in it. My new pump did not line up on old pipes anyway, so this worked wellPlace a mouse pad, or piece of felt between water pump and floor where mounted to absorbe some of the rattle and noise. What else are we going to do with those old mouse pads that are not used anymore. Had to get longer screws to make up for extra thickness.MUCH more quiet!!!

Good suggestions.  Now, if only they would make a pump that wouldn't "thump" in operation!
