Location: Oakland, CA | For the first time, I have to get new tires for my trailer. I have a Logan 3-horse GN, and the original tires are ST235/80R-16/10.The service person at my Logan dealer said I would be fine with either LTs or STs. I've done some searching on this (and read various COTH posts) and am very confused about which is the better choice. My driving is almost entirely highway and the only "off-road" is usually when I park at a horse show. While I might be hauling in rainy conditions, I'm never hauling when (or where) it's snowing. There are times, not often but they do exist (!), when I am passing trucks and am going faster than 65 mph.I stopped by a Les Schwab tire place this afternoon and was told LTs would be inappropriate and STs were what I needed. In addition, the brand that they have on stock is "Tow Max", but they can try to order whatever I want. Safety is of utmost importance and I do not want to cut corners or end up with an inferior tire because of my ignorance. I've never heard of Tow Max and haven't been able to find any reviews. (These tires are $169.98 each, which is about what I was expecting to pay.) I want to buy only tires made in the U.S., NOT China.I appreciate any help/advice anyone can offer! Many TIA! |

| I would try and stay away from Les schwab. I always stay with the higher end quality. |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | What is the GVWR of your trailer? If it's 14000# or less I would use a name brand (Goodyear, Firestone, Goodrich, Michelin, Uniroyal, etc.) LT235-85R16 lrE tire and you'll be good to go. I wouldn't spend alot of money on any Towmax Les Schwab Chinese junk that will be rotting and cracking within a couple of years.... The radial LT tires will probably be cheaper and will be speed rated at 99 mph+ Here's a little info on (ST) trailer tires. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTrailerTireFacts.dos |

Location: Little town in Pa | I agree with retendo. Stay away from Chinese made junk. The resin and the amount of used rubber they use make their tires inferior and they will start flying apart in about 3 years. |

Location: Vermont | Before you have them put the tires on your trailer check the manufacturing date of them... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11 |
