Location: Loxahatchee Florida | Hello everyone. I bought a 2002 4H Exiss about a year ago. I loved it. It was just what I was looking for. About my 3rd trip with it I noticed one of the drop down windows looked weird. I stopped, and looked at it. It was nearly about to fall off. Little did I know there was wood in between the sheet aluminum and it was rotted.. I was shocked, I couldn't believe a horse trailer manufacture would actually put wood in the doors and windows. About 2 weeks later my dressing room door was starting to drop prices of wood out of the bottom every time I would shut it because it too was rotted. Long story short, I ended up selling the trailer (after fixing the damaged windows and door).. My question is, are all Exiss trailer windows and doors made of wood? Or was this a problem they had with just a few years of manufacturing? Are later models all aluminum windows and doors like Sundowner? Thanks! |

Location: MO | I can't tell you about other trailers, but I have an '02 Exiss that the same thing happened to. Exiss had already been sold by the time my windows went bad, and I was told it would cost $300/window to replace them. Fortunately, the guy that owns the place where I board is a great mechanic and handyman. He took my windows apart and repaired them so I wouldn't have a problem anymore. All I had to pay was the cost of materials - $65. They look and work great again. |
