Location: santa clara, ca | hi,I want to get a normal truckbed tool box (aluminum) and put it on my hayrack to store seldom used items (camping highlines, extra saddle pads/blankets, horse boots, etc)How would you guy attach the box to the rack (aluminum). I was thinking about just drilling both and bolting them at every cross member at 6 to 8" apart, good idea? I would need somebody else to weld them togheter.Don't think i can use straps...as that would defeat the purpose of opening the box. |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | Several U-Bolts should work.... Drill the box, run U-Bolt around rack tubing tighten Nyloc nuts inside box... Add a dab of caulk to seal the drill/bolt holes before tightening it all together.... Some rubber between the toolbox and hay rack tubing wouldn't be a bad idea also, maybe some bicycle inner tube material... |

Location: Topeka Ks | I made brackets out of angle iron and bolted through the bottom of the box and the side of the cross brace. When I mounted my box on top. |

Well that's a pretty big air dam on top of your trailer for seldom used stuff... |

Location: Northern CA | I looked for u-bolts that are 1" and could not find any. The other size up was too big(wide) anyone know where to get a 1" wide u-bolt? I went to Ace Hardware and O.S.H. But to no avail. Also would like to build a visor? for the air-flow at front. Like Paul C said..the air dam thing concerns me. |
