I've got another thread asking about the company that made my trailer, but I have a different question: where can I find the data plate/serial number? I've looked all over the front of the trailer with no luck. Is it on the inside maybe? Are there federal regs that state that even custom manufacturers are supposed to put these tags on and/or put them in certain places?

I've lurked here for a long time and have learned so much from you guys. Thanks so much!

It should be on the left front outside of the trailer.. It may be on the tongue or on the side of the nose... It may be a aluminum plate screwed/rivited to the trailer or it may be a sticker/decal placed in the same area as the plate. It may have been taken off during a repaint/refurbish. It may have been stolen and placed onto another trailer. I have a 4 STAR that has a sticker, can't read anything on it, it has been washed, waxed and it has faded, now it's gone away, nothing left but a white sticker with no info.......

Will have to call the factory one day to get info so I can make a replacement.

Thank you! It's probably been removed at some point in time then . . . there is a sticker on each side of the gooseneck frame itself (in front) that was painted over at some time . . . but no other stickers/plates/etc. The title didn't seem to match the trailer either; the make was listed as "BGV" with an odd VIN # but nothing that matched the trailer.

Thanks to this site I've learned that there's no way it weighs the 3,000lbs that the seller told me, which is what started me looking for the data plate. I'm going to hire a friend to haul it to the truck scales a few towns over so I can get a weight on it . . . there's no way I'm hauling it with my F150 any more!
