Location: Carrboro | Just bought a 92 Gore and and would love to re-stripe it. The current stripes look like tape, not paint. Anyone have any ideas about if I need to A) try to get the existing stripe off first and B) if I can either tape or paint over it? and C) how/where/what kind of tape or paint should I use to restripe? Thanks |

Location: western PA | Heat the tape with a heat gun and slowly pull it back against itself. The left over glue can be removed with acetone or decal remover. Many styles and colours of tapes and decals can be found on Ebay and other web sites dealing with graphics, including marine based businesses. |

Location: Moscow Mills, MO. | You can also purchase an "eraser wheel" at an automotive auto body supply store. It threads onto a die grinder, buffer etc. The only stipulation is that it operates at between 3200-4000 rpm's. NEVER, I repeat NEVER exceed the 4000 rpm's as the material can disintegrate and cause injury. It is a very neat product, kind of like a giant rotating pencil eraser and it wont harm the paint. I get them for around $15.00. |

Would this mean you can operate with a normal drill?

Location: Upstate NY | I would contact a local decal/graphic shop would probably be a bit cheaper than getting it done from Gore, you can have a few options, and they will make sure that everything is even . if you apply them yourself I would think one of the laser levels would be handy to use as a line to set the stripe |
