I have a 01 Exiss with a factory LQ, the only detector\alarm that I have in the trailer is a smoke alarm.  Since it is a factory LQ I would assume it was equiped as required when it was manufactured so I am wondering if I need a CO detector and\or and LP detector also?  I am wondering if they didn't exist or weren't required in 01 and that is why my trailer isn't equiped with one or if it's not needed.

Trailer has LP for stove and heater, we use a generator with the trailer on many occasions but usually just for day shows, if we stay at a show we are usually plugged in.

Does it have propane and/or an on board generator?

Yes LP for stove and furnace.  No onboard generator.

This should help. I am not trying to promote this RV dealer. It is only an example

hmmmm, I  have an 01 Exiss Event SS310, and it came with a smoke detector, and also a CO2 detector.  The generator was added after purchase before pick up.

I think you should have the smoke detector (particulate & heat) CO2 detector, LP detector, at a minimum... we also sleep in our trailer, and sleep better know these devices are there and are working.

Exiss must have made a lot of trailers in 01, ours included. Ours has a Sierra interior and has a LP gas detector hidden in the lower part of the cabinetry under the hot water heater. It is hot wired into the 12V system battery and is always "on".

The LP detectors, because propane is heavier than air, will always be located near to the floor, under any possible gas source.

I have added an updated smoke/CO detector, since they are time limited and need replacing, whether they are working or not.

Thanks Gard, our's must be a bit older than yours as it has a NuWay interior which I think proceeded the Sierra interior.  I didn't realize the LP detector would be on the floor, I will have to look around.  Would it look like a smoke detector?  If it doesn't have one would it be important to add?

There are many styles available. Yes it would be a good idea to have one installed

I believe you meant CO(Carbon Monoxide) detector...
