| I was wondering how much it would cost to completely redo my LQ. I have an Elite with a 15' LQ. I mean like, completely tear out everything, and put new stuff in. I was planning on sending it to a conversion company, but if anyone had a ball park range, it would be great. Thanks! | |

Location: michigan | why not contact the conversation company and ask them? You can price out the equpiment you want and try to fit in a budget otherwise its all guess work.

Location: western PA | How much does a house cost? How much does a car cost? Because there are so many variables, an accurate price cannot be given untill every detail is examined and agreed upon. Farmbabe has the best answer; call some conversion companies. Most have varying interiors that reflect prices from manageable to exorbitant. Before you get the answers, make sure you are comfortably seated, in a chair with bolstered arms. A modest, fully equipped 4' LQ is ~$10K -$12K. For a 15' LQ, the sky is the limit. It may be less expensive to purchase a used trailer with a LQ already installed, than to have your trailer modified.

Location: Valentine, NE | As Gard said. But would add, about the only thing you can change is the wall/ceiling coverings, light fixtures, some cabinets, appliances, and flooring. The layout can not easily be changed due to the framing on the trailer, window placement, wall cut outs, etc, etc.
If you are just needing a new look on the walls, cabinets and lights, it really isn't too big of deal. If you are wanting new appliances, wiring, etc, than is turns into a lot of $$. Moving walls are impossible.
My good friends have "remodeled" quit a few, but that is just putting in new wall/ceiling coverings, light fixtures, and flooring. Usually they just refinish/paint the cabinets. And this all depends on how the original was installed, and what you want to change it to. Can be done, but, to get your investment back, you better plan on keeping it forever.
Good luck!

| I don't think $20,000 is that far off - if your putting in heat/air/plumbing. The cheapest labor bid I got was $1,500 just for labor (they wouldn't do the gas lines), on a 6 x 6 plus goose. So I did it myself, clocked 48 hours. Had 8 hours of help mostly with the ceiling. Guess it would have taken a pro 20 hours- that's $75 an hour. My trailer is for sale on this site 2 horse Featherlite gooseneck $10,000.00 Material costs well over $2,000.00 for just a furnace, solor roof vent, cooktop, cabinets/counter top, couple of lights, insulation and wall/ceiling stuff and I went to a Menards moving to a new building sale and got a real deal 40% to 75% off on allot of the materials. I hired a pro to install gas line furnace, cooktop and roof vent he only charged $55 an hour. I should have sold it before I spent $ all the new stuff I will never get my money back. Plus I put on new good tires and a new jack. Let us know what you find out. | |
