I have a F350, sets up pretty high,, I use it to pull my GN LQ trailer,, I have purchased a 2 horse bp 2" hitch , for short trips, etc... I need a drop hitch, probably a 4 or 6" drop. my question is I see 5000LB 6000LB, also 1" shank hole, etc... my trailer weighs 2100#, my horses are probably 1200# each,,, can someone give me advice on a safe drop hitch and ball shank,,,

I would look into a Rapid Hitch or B & W. Both are adjustable height and are rated at 10,000 pound tow rating.

MEASURING FOR THE PROPER BALL MOUNT
1. Measure from the ground to the top of the hitch.
2. Measure from the ground to the (inside) top of the trailer coupler,
when level.
3. Subtract the height of the hitch ball (most are 2-1/2” - 3” high) from coupler
measurement.
4. An x” drop is needed to make the trailer level.
x is THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO MEASUREMENTS IS THE
AMOUNT OF BALL MOUNT “RISE” OR “DROP” REQUIRED.
