Location: Valentine, NE | In case anyone has these tires, if you get to the point where they have some weather checking on them, Michelin will replace. Just took in two made 1-06 that had 38k on them. Warrenty ran out last month (6 years) but manufacturer only charged me $97 total to replace both with brand new ones. According to the internet, they had problems from 2002 to 2008 on these tires. No recall that we could find, but they really bent over backwards---especially on tires that had less than 40% tread life left. New costs ~390-445 each! You have to call Michelin customer support to get a ticket started, take them to the local dealer and let them call Michelin for adjustment. Good luck!

Location: Valentine, NE | What I found out that it was a Michelin problem on all medium duty truck 19.5 tires. The rear ones on my truck are fine..same size, same build date, just more aggresive tread--didn't look for the letters. Look for a number on the side wall that starts with DOT-the last 4 numbers are the date of manufacting of the tire. The warrenty starts than, not when placed in service. If within 6 years or close, I would call Michelin and start the process. You never know..they did say that they had to be more than 1/16" deep cracks. Good luck. |
