Location: Hookerton, NC | anyone used Salum trailer tires before? My goodyear dealer said they where just as good as the goodyears. I am getting the g614 all steel and wanted to make sure they where good tires. Goodyear price is $387 per tire and Salum $239 per tire. This is for my 8' sw, 4h living quarters trailer. Thanks |

Location: western PA | Here's some info on Salum tires: http://www.rv.net/Forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/23884435/print/true.cfm Anyone who says that a Chinese tire is as good as an American brand, is trying to sell you whatever he can, instead of what's the best. Anything said after that statement should be suspect, and I would search out another dealer. A less expensive product can be more expensive in the long run. There are very good reasons why tires are so different in pricing. Don't be keen to buy the least expensive. |

Location: Barnesville, Ga. | How heavy is your trailer. I upgraded to 19.5's for just a little more than the Goodyears costs. It opened up alot of opportunities for different tires as the 19.5 is a over the road truck tire. I have put 1500 miles on them and love them. My 16" goodyears were seperating due to too much use, and I didn't have but 2 1/2 years use on them. |

Location: Barnesville, Ga. | No. I skipped the 17.5 because they had a very limited tire selection as well. The 19.5's are about 1" taller overall than the 16's I had been using. |

Location: Hookerton, NC | Not sure the exact weight. 8' shortwall, 8' wide, elite managners, hay rack etc. I think around 12,000 lbs.
The fenderwells are pretty tight and I don't think I could fit a larger tire. There isn't any extra room there. I don't drive this trailer every week, so I know they will dry rot before I wear them out. |
