Location: Urbana, IL | I want to get a ramp put on a 2002 Kiefer Genesis X-380 and got an estimate from a dealership of $1200 - $1400 to do it. Is that reasonable? It seems high to me but I've never had a ramp put on before. |

| For a genuine Kiefer ramp, about right. The ramp itself is most of that money from the manufacturer. |

Location: Pineville Missouri | This is what Kiefer quoted me for my 2007 X-340 in Sept. 2011. No installation charge included, just the ramp to my house. The add on ramp is $1127.00 plus a $125 crating charge and approx. $200 for shipping. All the hardware is included with the order. Hope this helps. |

Location: Urbana, IL | Sounds like the estimate is right. I don't quite understand why a ramp should cost so much. This trailer has blocked axles so the step out is pretty high. I know my horses will do it if I ask but I think stepping out that high is a little dangerous. |

Location: Pineville Missouri | Seemed a little high to me also, but understand everything (material/labor costs) are going up and shipping is a awful. Would still like to have a ramp, but maybe sometime in the future. Horses will just have to deal with stepping in and out like they have done for years! |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | Be careful- Ramps are normally 48" tall, and work fine on a normal situation. A lifted trailer will cause the ramp to have a much steeper angle of attack. When we are dealing with a blocked trailer, we'll usually use a 54-60" ramp to lessen the angle. But it becomes heavier, and more money. May want to do some measuring before ordering.

Location: Urbana, IL | I was worried about whether a ramp would be too steep with the blocked axles. Does anyone have experience with putting a stock KB ramp on a blocked trailer? I think my trailer has been blocked 2 inches. I have been told that I could get Kiefer Built to build a longer ramp but of course that will cost more. |
