I have a gooseneck horse trailer I use all winter long - it does not have LQ. I am wondering what folks do to keep the water in their water tanks from freezing in the winter? The trailer has a water tank mounted under the gooseneck. Is there some type of heater that can be used? I use the trailer twice a week for foxhunting so I do not want to have to drain and refill water each time if possible. As an added benefit it would be nice if the water could be kept a little warmer than just above freezing so it could be used on the horse if needed.Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?Thank youHope

How much water do you use each time you go out...? 5, 10, 17, 20 gallons? Just carry enough in the tank for the day then empty the rest. I use these 7 gallon jugs year round. Easy to transport, easy to keep clean and they won't freeze if you empty them after each use...  http://www.rei.com/product/618168/reliance-aqua-tainer-7-gallon

My suggestion would be to contact an RV trailer dealership because I know more people are starting to use their RVS all winter so they probably have something to keep the holding tanks and water lines from freezing. If they don't have anything is it possible to move the water tank into the dressing room for the winter and heat dressing room with a small heater, this would keep your water and gear warm all winter.
