We went camping last weekned and ended up parking on a steep slope. The riding was great but we had some issues w/ the trailer. For one thing the hydrolics in the jack bled down during the nite so the trailer kept ending up at a severe slant. guess the answer to that is putting some type of solid block under the trailer then figuring out why the hydrolics won't hold. the refrig. was working off gas when we got there, but stopped after a day. I assume this was from the tilt of the trailer too. duh. (and yes we did have plenty of gas)
next the heat stopped working. it came on the first nite, but the next nite came on for a few min. then no heat came out but the blower was on all nite. so besides having to prop myself up w/ about 5 pillows so I didn't keep sliding down into the front of the trailer we were a tad chilly in there.
by sunday morning the trailer battery was completely dead. the battery was on it's last legs anyway (I was hoping to get one more trip out of it- bad decision) so then the trailer wouldn't crank down all the way since the jack which runs from the battery wouldn't work. luckily someone there had a battery we borrowed long enough to get the trailer hooked back up.
my question- since there was plenty of gas- did the refrig. not work because we were at such a slant and/or is the battery partially needed to run it? same w/ the heater. my husband thinks the thermostat was screwing up in the heater but it was set on the same thing both nites- first time it worked and 2nd didn't.
I feel like a dork asking these questions but I'm sure you guys will help me out- thanks!
we did buy a new battery the other day. havn't had a chance to test things out yet.
Well...now you know why everyone seems to have a generator or TWO...
