Yes, I have done it in several trailers. Make sure you use the correct glue for the soft touch. Should not have any problems with it.

3M makes a good product that seems to work pretty good. Here is a link.  It worked well for me, although I attached it to Masonite and then attached that to the furred walls of my DIY trailer.
