Location: NW Florida | We've recently moved to Memphis and we're finally settled enough to start considering a camping weekend. We have a big 4H w/LQ and would like to find a place within a couple of hours that we can go for a few days of camping and trail riding. We'd like electric hook-ups and some sort of stabling for the horses. I don't even know if there's some place that is cooler, but that would sure be nice!! Our horses are unshod and I am realizing I may need to invest in some sort of boots for trail riding around here. We just moved up from Florida and rocks weren't too much of an issue there.Thanks for any advice! |

Location: mount vernon ar. 72111 | It is located in Wynne Ar. Get on line and take a look at Village Creek State Park. Not very rocky and good stalls and a couple of lakes if u like 2 fish. 1 has a small beach. Very clean and nice. Trails are nice also. |

Location: NW Florida | I also located a place in Tuscumbia, AL, about the same distance to the East. I think the name of it is Seven Springs Lodge. Wonder if anyone has feedback on that place.Sounds like the closest place to us that might be even the teensiest bit cooler is about 6 hours away. And it's only 5 degrees cooler, sigh. Which means instead of highs of 95, only highs of 90. Wonder if we'd even notice!! |

Village Creek to West, Buffalo River Trail Ride in Waynesboro, 7 Springs in Al to East, Stinking Jims in Houston MS to South. There are several places along I 40 going toward Nashpatch. PM me an maybe when its cooler we can ride some. I aint doing nothing in this heat! |

Location: NW Florida | After some time away (sick family member), I am back to researching this. My husband has a real itch to get out and use our big LQ, 4H trailer - the first weekend in August. Seven Springs Lodge is booked with an event that weekend (they are slightly cooler than Memphis, at least!). He's willing to drive up to 6 hours away.Anyone ever done Brushy Creek Lodge & Resort in Black, Missouri? One of the reviews I read said the rural roads leading in were a little 'hairy' with a 36' horse trailer (ours is 42'!).And I will definitely check out those others you mentioned, Ike.... I am loving HorseTrailDrectory.com right now. They even have a map showing some of the different places! |

Location: novinger, mo | Since you are looking in MO are you in Memphis TN or Memphis MO? If you are in TN don't bother going to Brushy Creek. It's nice, but you have tons of nice riding closer to you!

Location: Indiana | We've been to Brushy Creek in MO and have a 33 on the floor (40 ft gooseneck nose to back) and had no problems on the road- but it depends on which way you go in It was ok -- what about Slabtown-- how close are you to them? |

Location: The Natural State | Check out Many Cedars... about 4 hours from you (just south of Nashville), almost all of it interstate. Easy to get in with a big trailer, nice folks, covered stalls, pretty river runs beside campground. Probably won't be any cooler this time of year, but then you won't find cooler within 6 hours! Location: Central Arkansas | Natchez Trace State Park is right above Jackson TN. Sandy trails and a really nice RV horse park. I would think that if I lived in Memphis,since it is just 1 1/2 hrs away, that is where I would probably ride the most. LBL in KY would be a little over 4 hrs from you. That is good riding, too. Bar 50 Ranch , over here by Hot Springs, AR is good riding for this area, but rocky. I am 34' on the floor making my LQ trailer 42' end to end. I am assumming that is what you mean by 42'. We are 62' long ( end to end) when hooked up to the Freightliner M2. I can get in to all the places mentioned above without any trouble. |

Location: Central Arkansas | The barn is about 1/2 mile thru the woods from the campground, longer if you drive it. There are picket line ties at each RV pad. Sometimes the folks that run the barn will let you park there. You should call and verify stall & parking availability. You really don't need shoes there unless they are tender footed by nature. This is a great place for winter riding! |
