Does anyone have any suggestions on a portable step or ladder they have purchased for a gooseneck?  I have difficulty getting out of the bed in the gooseneck, it's a balancing act with one foot on the counter and one foot sliding down trying to reach the narrow step.  There has got to be a better way!  Sure would appreciate any help, thanks!

This is the One reason, I love a flatbed...step on the duallys rim and lean into hook up or unhook... When hooking or unhooking with a pickup body, I like to set the truck at a 45 degree angle to the trailer...it makes for a roomier area to work in the bed...

that will teach me not to be in such a hurry LOL As I was saying, a mounting block works great getting in and out of your truck bed, or getting up or down from your bed in the gooseneck. I hope that's the info you were looking for.

We use a collapsible three step, step ladder. Also availble from many sources are wheel steps that are easily installed and removeable.

If your talking about getting in & out of your LQ bed, then you can purchase many different types of ready made steps from Target in the childrens bedding section. I had a alder stained one (to match the alder colored cabinets), on the trailer before me because it was just to much of a stretch down in the middle of the nite!

Thanks for your suggestion on getting in the bed of the gooseneck, I wasn't real clear on which "bed" I was talking about, I meant to say the bed inside the gooseneck!  Thanks again!

it cost more than a kids step stool but I got this one for clambering in and out of the gooseneck inside my trailer. one of my hips doesnt work so well, so its important that I have a stable way to get up (and down)

it was cheaper than one of those big plastic mounting blocks, and takes up less floor space since it can fold up.

plus its just darn pretty :)

Here's a link one we made. Very easy to do and is hinged so it can be moved out of the way when not being used. http://www.akinstrailersales.com/inventory/index.php?trailer=325305
