Location: Home of the WNFR at Christmas | Any one want to offer up any ideas on replacement tires for my superduty ?
Thinking 285/75/16'ish, E rated. Like most here I pull a fairly heavy LQ, I do run around on dirt roads, play in the big western mountains and hit some weather at times, I have been thinking Michelin LTX A/T 2 or the old standby BFG AT's, are these the way to go or is anyone running other tires with great success ?
Thanks |

Location: Santa Fe, TX | After much research on new tires for my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 QC SRW 4x4, I went with the Hankook Dynapro ATM tires (285/70/R17 E). They have superb reviews & a good price as compared to BFG & Michelin. I've only got about 500 miles on them so far. They are quiet on the road & look great on my truck, would highly recommend them to anyone! |

Location: Northern Utah | My 2011 Ford Superduty came with the Michelins in 275/65r20 size. I'm not going to get much more than 20,000 miles out of the factory set. But they have performed very well. Good snow traction, quiet on the road. Nice handling tire. I just need some thing that gives me longer tread life. I don't know if michelin AT/2 will last longer in the 16". But I won't be buying them as my replacement tires. |

Location: Home of the WNFR at Christmas | Thanks guys, after doing a little reading on the Hankook they are looking up in both price and people saying good things. Painted, I am sure you and I drive some of the same roads so I was hoping for your input... |

Location: Northern Utah | Troy we probably pass each other going the opposite directions a couple of times a year. I have a brother in Vegas, that I visit occassionally. If you look on the forum that discuss the new 2011 fords, You will see a number of guys complaining about tread wear on the Michelins AT/2. Maybe its that model of tire, Maybe they make a cheaper OEM version, maybe it's the extra torque and HP of the new 6.7L. But lots of guys have complained. But we are driving 8000lb trucks often with heavy trailers. With my 2003 and 2006 trucks, I would average 30,000 miles per set of tires pulling the same loads. Thats was pretty consistent across all the brands of tires I tried. the OEM Conti's, Toyo's, and some Goodyear Wrangler ATS. My Goodyears didn't seem to like to be loaded heavy in the summer heat. They were a great tire all winter and hunting season, But by July when we started getting the high 90's heat, I had two get bulges in the sidewalls. Dealer said I was over loading the tires. But it was the same truck and loads that both the Conti's and Toyos had survived. In fact I had sold my LQ, So it was probably a lighter load than the Toyos had survived. |
