Location: western PA | These coatings are designed for applications involving commercial steel roofs. They work very well on steel, aluminum and fiberglass. On steel, any rust should be pretreated with a converter, and any loose caulking should be first removed. They are excellent products and available from many sources. |

Location: Scottsboro, AL | Thanks for the replies. I've got a 91 WW 3h slant bumper pull with a rusty roof and the coating looked like a winner and is cheaper than paint. I was going to fix the rust through and repaint the whole trailer. |

Location: Ohio | I just painted my old steel LQ trailer's roof in white elastomeric paint. Holy cow what a difference. It keeps it so much cooler in there. I used the Henry brand from Home Depot. Goes on easy. |

Location: Ohio | Also, just as a point of reference, the trailer is 35' overall length, 7' wide. It took roughly 2.5 gallons of paint to cover the roof thick. Most places took 2 coats, some took 3 coats. This was after it was primered white. |

Location: Versailles, KY | I'm going to apply this to my roof ASAP. Went to Lowes for the coating, and they were sold out:(
I also used a sealing tape for the seams that can be painted over. Haven't decided if I should coat the tape with elastomeric or leave it unpainted. (The tape is white.) Any suggestions? |

Location: Versailles, KY | Interesting. The coating at my Lowes was cheaper than my Home Depot (in the gallon size -- the 5 gallon HD was slightly cheaper) and lasts for 10 years instead of 7. Plus, it covers more per square foot. The coating at Lowes got very good reviews, but that was through the Lowes' site. I'll do a little more comparing. What seam tape did you use? I tried Butyl Magic -- hasn't rained yet, so I have no idea if it works, but it looks good.
