Location: Ankeny , Iowa | Floor on our Kiefer 340 is pitted bad. Looks like the floor is made of 8 inch wide aluminum planks going lengthwise. Doesn't look all that hard to cut the spotwelds underneath and 2 inch bead on the rear sill to replace about the center 4 or 5 pieces. Anyone ever done it? Rear horse side door has several rusty type corrosion holes starting. Can just the outer skin be replaced? I've owned a bodyshop for years but have never done repairs of this type. Things look pretty easy sometimes till I get it torn up then wish I hadn,t. Thanks |

The floor shouldn't be that difficult. The pieces are unique to Kiefer and you'll need to get them from the factory. Seeing you are in Iowa, that might not be too hard. Kiefermfg.com will get you the number.
The door sounds like one built by Todco Door. In it is treated wood, that is reacting with the skin. Yes, it can be rebuilt, or you can buy a replacement from Kiefer. The replacement will have been shop built by Kiefer and will not have the same issues.
As you say- its hard to say what you can do. Somewhere, someone will be the one to do it, might as well be you, given the times is available. Let me know if we can be of help.
