Location: SE Kansas | I have a 2007 Ford pick up and an older Hart bumper pull. I have to use an adapter because the 2 plugs are really different. I cannot get my interior lights to work anymore or my outside lights to work. Is there something I need to change on the adapter or will I need to rewire everything? |

Location: SE Kansas | What about the difference in the wires? There are flat on the ford and not as many wires as the round plug on the hart? |

Location: North Salem, IN | Defenitely rewire the trailer with a 7 way RV plug. That will fit yor truck, and ny other newer truck for that matter, and will eliminate the need for any adapters. The plug can be purchasedjust about anywhere (Walmart, Tractor Supply, or any auto parts store). |

Location: North Salem, IN | The extra wire on the truck side, labled Aux, is typically wired to the reverse lights. You can simply leave that terminal on the new 7 way connector unused, or, if you you have flood lights on the rear of your trailer, you could add a wire to the trailer that would work the flood lights when your truck is in reverse. I did that on my trailer, and it makes such a difference! |

Location: Ingalls, Ks | On my Fords, the wire that would run those lights is only hot when the key is on. Also there is a seperate fuse "trailer power" for that wire, you might need to check that. I've had the fuse go out a couple of times. Make sure your key is on. |
