Location: Walcott, ND 58077 |  I recently purchased a 2002 Bloomer 4 horse with a 10 foot living quarters It has 2 battery's in the battery box and a gas generator, I have used it for 2 weekends and seems like after 8 to 12 hours the batteries go dead once dead the generator will not run, a friend suggested getting a seperate battery for the generator and maybe getting 2 extra batteries and pig tailing them together with the existing battery's. This last weekend trip I charged both batteries up several days before and always plug the trailer into the land line a week before leaving. any suggestions on types of batteries that will last 2 to 3 days, not really looking forward to pig tailing batteries together. would rather find 2 good batteries to replace exsisting.

Location: Lockport, Illinois | How old are the batteries, what is on for the 8 hours the batteries are lasting, what capacity are the batteries? You may be drawing too much from the batteries for them to last longer, or they may be old and weak. |

Location: western PA | A furnace fan will quickly kill a set of batteries. I agree with the other posting as well; old age, a large draw, not a good quality deep cycle battery. You might consider as well, your older charging system may not have a regulated "maintenance" charging cycle. This can result in over charging your batteries during longer chargings, which will damage them by reducing their capacity and life spans. |

Location: Walcott, ND 58077 |  I took my 2 deep cell battery's in to be tested the age of the batteries are Oct. 2010 so they are pretty much brand new, the test came back as excellent. Did find a loose wire and hope that was the problem, Off to another rodeo next weekend so we will see if problem is corrected. Thanks for all your help, I've been a daily reader of the forum for the past year and finally jumped of board.

Location: western PA | Make sure the battery connections are absolutely clean and coat them with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion. Dirty connections will give the same symptoms as old batteries |
