Location: Williams Lake, BC | Just bought a 2000 Sundowner 8012, thank-you for everybodies help. The radio does not work and I am trying to figure the difference between the 12V "ignition" wire which has a charge (not from truck) and the 12 V battery charge which does not have a charge. I cross wired the ignition wire with the battery wire on the radio and the clock came on, but nothing else |

| Mine is wired with both of those wires to the positive from the trailer. |

Location: Williams Lake, BC | Thanks blackcows, I tried to figure out where the wires went to, but they are behind the wall. There are two wires going to the "ignition" one and then the other "battery" one there is just a thick blue wire. I could combine all three wires, but I was wondering what the 12V ignition wire was for or from. |

Location: North Carolina | Many 12 volt radios have three wires 1... main power 2....Faceplate light. Connected to the vehicle dash lighting. Allows the faceplate to be dimmed along with the dash. 3....Memory. Needs a constant 12 volts or the station settings are lost. If these are the three wires, they may be connected together to the 12 volt positive. Do an internet search on your radio model and make. |

Location: western PA | If you connect all three together, and don't have a LQ main battery disconnect switch, the radio will slowly drain the batteries. |

Location: Williams Lake, BC | So if I put it all together. The ignition wire, if it were in a vehicle, would be the main power to run the radio when the ignition was on. The battery power would probably be the memory power to keep the clock going. I will have to figure out why there is no power to the battery wire, though can't figure out yet where all the wires are behind the wall |
