I recently replaced the license plate light on my trailer. Now all the lights work as long as the trailer is not hooked to the truck. If I just plug the lights in they all work. If I lower the trailer onto the ball on the truck the license plate light and the fender light on that side goes out. How is this possible?

Location: blacksburg va		sounds like a grounding issue- I would start with double checking the light you replaced.
