Location: The Natural State		Damaged tail gate .Bent and shoved down on top right. How can I get the tailgate to open.From what I can see the top pin is still patially in on the right side and the bottom part that holds it on is out. The left side is stiil in tact as normal.Will have to replace tailgate. The trailer is still hooked to trailer and it is a gooseneck.The open latch does not release either side. Tks for your help

I did something similar only the tail gate was open, I got raised the tail gate and couldn't open. I took it to the Dodge Dealer and they got it off and I replaced it. I thought I was doing pretty good, the first thing to "go" is usually the tail gate and I had 235,000 miles on the truck. The current truck I have has 128,000 miles so I have a few more yrs and 100,000 miles before I do something stupid.   GOOD LUCK  Nancy
