Location: northeast Texas | We have an 08 Cherokee 3 slant 10' shortwall LQ. Bought last year but was brand new. For the last few months the brakes seem to be acting strange. Sometimes, usually when I first start out, I feel like I have no brakes. I have a Prodigy controller. So I dial up the brakes to more strength and quicker application. Then later on they seem to get really touchy and grabby, specially if I am going slow like in a camp ground so I have to reset it all back down again. Could this be the plug connection, corrosion on the brakes themselves, or perhaps my controller? I pull the trailer every week or couple of weeks, usually for several hundred miles. The truck is an 07 and the controller was in it when I got it. Had 24,000 on the truck when I bought it. Also wanted to say I really enjoyed the new Pacbrake on my trip this past weekend while hauling. First time to use it. 600 miles with the trailer. It really makes a difference in how much you need to go to the brakes. |

Location: northeast Texas | Hmm let me reiterate, time gets by. Bought the trailer in October 2009, brand new. So have pulled it 1 1/2 years. Lots of miles as we pull all winter. |

Location: North Carolina | Have you ever adjusted your trailer brakes for wear? I'd say most trailer brakes are NOT self adjusting like truck & car brakes are. |
