Location: PA | I just bought a 2000 Featherlite 3 horse slantload. I am planning on pulling the wheels and repacking the bearings and, if necessary, changing the brake pads. I wondered if one of the mechanics would tell me how much pad should there be left before they need to be replaced? Thank You. |

But if they get down to 1/8" thickness, I'd replace them.....and if you shop around you will find that the backing plate, with all new hardware and the shoes, isn't much more expensive than just the shoes....maybe $15/wheel more. |

R&R four mounting bolts and the brake wires and you're done. Don't forget to repace those wheel seals, most of them are a one time thing. Each side is different, there's right and left... NOTE: Left Hand = Drivers Side & Right Hand = Passenger Side
If you order for four wheels you should end up with two rights and two lefts..... Two different part numbers. EXAMPLE... http://www.easternmarine.com/Electric-Trailer-Brake-Assemblies/

Location: PA | Thank You all for your help. Looks like there is 3/16" - 1/4" left on the brakes. I think I'm going to wait until next time I repack the bearings and replace the pads then. Thanks Again. |
