Location: FL | I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L hemi 4 door. I pull a 16' stock trailer without issues, but would like to eventually get a gooseneck so I have someplace halfway decent to sleep on camping trips :)My question is will I have issues with the shorter bed?? |

Location: Nashville, TN | Just be aware that a tapered nose gooseneck will give you a little more margin for error than a full square nose type. |

Location: Sumas Washington | I would definitely find a tapered nose trailer. You might want to use a hitch extender to move the ball back a bit. You really don't want to experience hitting the cab with the trailer. |

Location: Minnesota | You probably won't need or want, a bullet nosed trailer if you are going to camp in it. If you stay with a 7' wide trailer, most have a slight taper to them anyway. One advantage you have is already having the truck, so you can try out a few trailers to see how they fit. Find the location of where your ball would be, tape an empty beer can in that spot and back in under the trailer from various angles. This will give you a good reference of what trailer will work, before you install a hitch that you may not be able to use. Good luck. |

Location: Manitoba, Canada | All of our trucks have had short beds, and we've had no problems. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to add a traditional slip tank and still pull the trailer. |

Location: FL | Well Genebob, you just gave me a good excuse to drink a beer, lol!When I bought this truck a few months ago it didn't even occur to me that it would be an issue... All my friends with GN trailers have a regular bed good thing is since I currently have a trailer I can take my time, talk to dealers, etc.thanks again!! |

Location: Laguna Hills, CA | I have sb f350 and a 20 foot 8 foot wide gooseneck Cimarron. I use and recommend the turnover ball company 4 inch gooseneck extender. pushes the trailer back 4 inches. works well. Cost about $135 on-line. Terry |

Location: northeast Texas | Thought I might point out you will probably have more issues with it being a half ton truck rather than the shorter bed. Real easy to overload those trucks with a gooseneck as you tend to want to "pack more in". We had a short bed truck and while it worked fine, I hated it. Wrecked and replaced with long bed and will never own another short bed truck. Wish you the best of luck with what you end up getting. |

Location: Ohio | I managed to take out the back window on my shortbed with my (tapered) gooseneck. I was well aware of this possibility and was always cautious but turned my head for a second and heard that sickening crunching sound while I was trying to navigate a tight turn.
If you aren't an airhead like me you'll be fine...but when I got my F-350 Diesel I went with the long bed... |

Location: Vanzant, Missouri | I pull a 3h with 8ft lq with a short bed and I bought the SB1 extender. It set the trailer back 9in and I have no problems even jack knifeing it. I even have enough room for a 65 gal water tank in front. I highly recommed it. |

Gooseneck with short bed??
