Location: texas | I am about to purchase a CM Dakota ES 2h. It is 6''wide and 6'6'' tall. I have two horses that are pretty good about trailers. One is 6.1h and the other is about 6.2h. I do not know a lot about trailers as I usually always use my friends to haul. I have a smaller SUV therefore was interested in this trailer because it is light weight. I need some opinions about the height and if it will be an okay size to fit my horses. Thank you |

Location: ocala, fl | I have pulled alot of trailers and now pull a Shadow. if you want a trailer that pulls great you need to look at a Shadow... if your horse is 16 hands or better you need a 7 6 tall trailer |

Plenty of manufacturers build trailers that pull very well. CM and Shadow being only two of them.

No, you don't. A 7'-6" tall trailer would be nice, but is certainly not a necessity. 6'-6" is sufficient, 7'-0" would be a little nicer, and 7'-6" would be even nicer. |

Thank you Double check the CM you are looking at, I have seen have been 7' tall! either way I would say depending on YOUR horses you really do not need a 7'-6" tall trailer. We have 1 odd ball Quarter Horse that is 17.1 and he loads is a 7' trailer all day long, the rest of our 13 horses are anywhere from 14.2 to just over 16hh and will load in any trailer 6' to 7' along with a 2 horse WW I just bought that is 6'-6" tall. |

Location: Decatur, Texas | What part of Texas are you in?? There is plenty of CM/SH trailer dealers in Texas and most will have 7' trailers in stock. If you have an option, don't just settle with what one dealer tells you. Some dealer will work with you and most will try and push what they have aready ordered and trying to move. |

Location: western PA | I disagree with other posters. I would not purchase a 6'6" high trailer. 7' is a minium and a 7 1/2' height would be perfect. Our first trailer was a 2HBP SL with a 6 1/2' roof, and we were limited by which horses we could transport. |

Location: western PA | I wish we had longer than three minutes to effect corrections. Our first trailer was a BP straight load, not a slant load as I misstated. Its 6 1/2' roof was too low for warmbloods. It worked OK for several quarter horses. |
