This is the bridge over the Nolin River in White Mills, KY. It is one of only a handful of iron bridges still standing in KY and one of only 3 still in use. Believe it or not, I have seen this bridge with water up to the guard rails during some of the worse floods. ![](http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l584/BevAllen/IMG_2258.jpg?t=1296224722)

A wet, heavy snow this week had the trees bowing in reverence to the glory of winter. ![](http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l584/BevAllen/IMG_2275-1.jpg?t=1296225153)

I can't imagine any of our rivers increasing in depth that much. Although the Water flow thru them does increase significantly during spring run offs. |

![500](https://horsetrailerworld.com/forum/images/decorations/multiple/500.gif) Location: Tucumcari NM | You would never know it was winter around here this year. No moisture at all. The wind just blows the dirt to Texas one day and back to Arizona the next. It has been relentless!! We have had a few days of below zero, but it was nearly 70 today.

I took these photos for a project I am putting together for a fundraiser. Every year the community decorates our little bridge with a beautiful light display for the Christmas season. This year, vandals destroyed the lights. The civic league and community churches are having a spaghetti dinner and auction to raise money to replace the lights. A friend of mine is taking these photos and framing them with some wood taken from one of our old tobbacco barns. I can't wait to see how they turn out! May have to bid on it myself!! |

Looks like it a be awhile before a safe winter ride--expecting up to 1" of ice today--just to the south of the big snow line. |

Just brown outs here. There is a saying with the wind, "Arizona blows and Texas sucks and NM is stuck in the middle" and visa versa. We had some beautiful weather until yesterday highs upper 60's lows right at freezing, but the next two days we are not suppose to get above freezing which is highly unusual for us this far south. I love the snow, when we get it, but then its only about an inch or so. I just hate the wind. Stay warm and safe with this storm. |

![500](https://horsetrailerworld.com/forum/images/decorations/multiple/500.gif) Location: Tucumcari NM | I guess I really do need to be careful what I wish for!!
Temps for today were -9 for a low and +6 for a high. The wind blowing at 40 to 50 and wind chills at 30 to 40 below zero. I am carrying buckets of hot water to the livestock because the stock tank heater just can not compete. The fruit trees that were budding out may be dead after this. The animals are weathering the storm well, though.

This is the snow from Monday. The flakes were as big as my whole hand!!! I've never seen snowflakes that big. |
