I have a flat screen tv in my LQ and it is mounted very close to the outlet so I have lots of excess cord.  Would there be any problem with cutting the tv cord and adding a new male end?  I have tried wrapping the cord but it still looks really clutered.

No problem at all, just be sure not to reverse the polarity

If you cut the cord and you still have warranty on the TV, it become void.
