I bought a 4 star with onan generator (4000) added after the fact (never used til I got it 4 yrs later). Trying to change oil but don't see a drain under the trailer. The gen sits in a big tray that looks like there is no where for the oil to go when you open up the drain plug. How do I change it? I see hole under the trailer where you can see a couple of bolts (but not oil drain). Help! Dumb female problem here!

Welcome to HTW....!! Sounds like the generator installer should have drilled a hole in the bottom of the compartment to gain acess to the drain plug. You say the genertor is in a tray... Does the tray have a release on it so as it can be "rolled out" to acess the genset for maintenance??... You may trying to contact the trailer mfg. Here's a site with some Onan 4000 oil change tips... http://www.rvwithtito.com/2010/02/onan-generator-oil-change.html

On ours, when I lay under the trailer looking up, through a small hole in the floor of the trailer, I see a sort of oval plate held on by two screws. Take that plate off, and I see the oil drain plug,...I open it and let the oil drain into a handy receptacle I scoot under the hole. Hope your setup is similar........

I just started sucking the oil out using an oil suction gun. I bought a trailer that had one in it and couldn't figure out why. After a couple of times trying to get that plug in and out I came to my senses and started using the suction gun. May not be as good as pulling the drain plug it's close enough and a lot easier.

Apparently my Microquiet 4000 book doesn't match the generator. Even on the RV website. The drain is right below the oil fill in front of unit, not below unit (no hole either- no hole under trailer for a second oil drain if there is one - so must have to use front oil drain). Can anyone help - is there a latch to remove bottom pan the entire unit sits on so I can drain in another pan?
