NOOOOOO Don't do it! Purchase a winterizing valve from an RV store. Drain all your lines useing the installed drain valves, then set the bypass vales on your HW tank. Remove your inlet from your pump, screw on the kit and suck straight from the jug till pink comes out all faucets, toilet (toilet sprayer if equiped) and shower. I use 2 jugs. Run hot and cold lines. Go outside release the pressure lever on your HW tank and then remove the anode rod (store safely till spring or replace next year) As I drain the tank I flush the tank with a 3/8 tube attached to my hse end so any sand built up flows out. I use a round wire brush and rub inside the fire chamber and then air gun the rust and debris out. I also air gun the back of the refer to clear any dust and summer debris. Never add the pink to the fresh water tank and never add it to the HW tank. You will spend all next year getting that horrid stuff out of your tanks. I have heard it is not good for the HW tank. A small amount of water left in the fresh tank is not dangerous. I leave my drain hole open all winter so it can slosh out. I role up a rage and wedge it in my refer doors using a bungee cord to keep them closed the rag allows just enough air to circulate not allowing mold to form. I then open my gray water drain it till I see the pink then shut it and then I do the same to my already empty Black water tank. Just to get the pink into the valve area. I spray the valve rods with WD-40 as I close them. Take all liquid items out of the LQ, remove all my extra batteries except for the jack battery. Check all your window tracks and make sure they are draining properly. I fill my propane tanks, sweep out the floor and I am ready to go next season. |
