Location: western PA | Hi. Gard was doing well recovering until he went to bed Thurs night with some discomfort in his arm. Friday he awoke to a useless arm and tremendous pain. A call to our Dr. landed us quickly in the ER, where a team quickly anesthetized Gard and began searching for the problem. After several hours we were told that it was not caused by a cardiovascular event or of any internal blood clotting. This was the best news we could have received, as either cause could have been life threatening. When we returned home, Gard was shot, shaking and in pain. He immediately wanted to relax, but I told him I had something to show him first. It took a while to get him in front of the computer where he was cross and uncomfortable. I pulled up my posting and showed him your tremendous outpouring of love, support and faith. He didn't realize the full affect until I read him a few postings. His eyes watered and when I stopped, thinking something was wrong, he said "more". He was soon crying and laughing at the same time. Finally he said, "it was because of them, they saved me". He could not remain in his chair for any length of time, even though he wanted to read every reply. When he finally got put down for some rest he said, "They're our family now, and they saved us". From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank each of you all for your wishes, prayers and support. Your efforts were well received. To a perfect stranger you have given the most gracious gift. When he recovers enough for additional procedures, I will again post additional information of his progress. With loving and greatful prayers, Donna |

| So glad Mr Gard is on the mend. Very important to watch his temp. Too high or too low spells trouble. Please stay in touch with MD. Your spirit and love are very strong aspects for healing. I am new to this site, but Gard, you have had a major impact on my decisions and safety and life already. Praying for your safety and wellbeing... JR's Pal |

Location: centra,l Illinois | My thoughts and prayers are with you Gard and your family! Hope you get well soon. Like many others I'm new to the horse and horse trailer world.I'm always eager to hear your advice and opinions. So many times you have answered my questions before I even had to ask through others posts. Your right about your (horse family) I didn't come into that world until late (41) and as much as I love my horse, it's the people you share that feeling with that makes it truely special. hope you know how much you mean to horse lovers from all across the USA.Take care and hope to hear from you soon, curtis |

Location: New Mexico | My goodness! I am just now seeing the two threads, because I don't come here real often, though I've 'lurked' periodically for a number of years now, and so have come to feel that I 'know' several of the posters who seem to nice and so helpful. Gard is right up there in that group! I SO hope that all is still getting better for Gard! He is unfailingly and unselfishly helpful...was right there with great information when I have had questions...as he always seems to be, for everyone who comes here! Sending love, warmest thoughts and prayers for him and all his family! Mrs. Gard, I do hope we can soon receive another update? The best of best wishes from central New Mexico, Margo (aka olehossgal ) |
