Location: Ohio | I was having issues with my fridge not running during travel - I thought my fridge was a 3-way and would run on DC power during travel. I called the service center and they told me it was supposed to run off propane while traveling.
It seems dangerous to me to have propane running to the trailer during hauling. Up to this point, I have "made do" by freezing a gallon container of water and keeping it in the fridge - this keeps everything cool enough during travel, then I turn on the propane when I am at my site.
Do you guys actually run your propane while you tow? Is it safe? It had not even occured to me to turn on the propane during travel. |

Location: Missouri | I always have also, and so have my parents with there RV. It's designed to run that way. You're only advised to shut it off when re-fueling. Although I never have done that either. I figure if the fumes are that strong, I'm not staying to fuel up. |

| I also run with my propane on. According to the technician at the the local propane place, the propane cylindar will shut off if it senses a large flow of propane. I always purge my lines prior to shutting off the propane. This fellows says that people often think that their propane tank doesn't work when they are filling up their lines. He said that it will often take two or three open close cycles of the tank to fill the lines because the tank keeps shutting itself off. I have never had this happen when I was filling my lines, but the technician said that it is common. |

Location: western PA | Once the flame is extinguished, a safety valve closes the propane source. A conventional start cycle will be needed to relight the heater. |

| We run ours off of DC power when traveling.It works fine.We dont' haul for very long distances,but,for a few hours it keeps it as cold as the electric cycle.Never have used propane to it. |
