Update on Uwharrie: Canebrake has recently added power to all sites. Badin Lake horse camp is primitive (not even a porter potty) but there are posts and trees to highline from. I would recommend bringing panels or electric fence if you will be arriving late on Friday or on a holiday weekend because the areas with poles go fast. Deep Water Trail horse camp is way out the way and the trail from that camp to the rest of Uwharrie's trails is 1.7 miles. It's a big open field - I didn't see any tie out poles but you could probably find suitable trees. The trails look real good and all the water crosssings had enough water in them for the horses to drink. There were a lot less trail markers than I remember and the color coding on the trees has worn off. We got off trail several times and we're pretty familiar with the area. Still one of my favorite places to go. The weather was great this weekend for riding.
