| I found a very, very nice truck ladder rack that goes over the bed of the pickup and over the cab for the transport of long objects such as canoes or ladders. It's very nice. Can that be modified for use as a hay rack for the top of my trailer? The size is right. The color is right. It would look very nice, but aside from the rack on my old, old trailer, I'm not familiar with them.It wouldh't have a floor unless one was added. It would have rails, though.Any ideas. |

Location: Arkansas | I believe so. We have added a rack to a steel trailer, and one of our relatives did also........the main thing is the structure to hold the weight .....it is possible to overload it, I'm sure... |

Location: Elkhart , Indiana | talk to your insurance company , if you add a rack that is not made for hay or a horse trailer you are responsable for any thing that could happen like a bale of hay falling on to a car going down the street . think twice . |

| Thanks for the replies. I'll get some measurements and look at it again with this purpose in mind to see more details. I can give the ins co a call, too. It's a good idea to run things past them. |
