Plan on going to S.D. and on to Wyoming if I can find a place to camp that is not primitive. I will be coming from Tn. |

Think they have corrals and water and there are hosts on site. Plenty of trails out of there. There is also a place up by Brooks Lake that I think has camping but not sure what they offer. Good Luck |

If so, there are corrals there. Horses are not permitted in the campground. Sometimes there's water in the campground and sometimes there isn't. The RV campground is up above the horse camping. The river is close to the corrals for horse water. There's an outhouse(nice one) near the corrals. There is a camp host. Lot of nice camping spots around the corrals, or you can go on down river and find several other nice camping locations. A lot of trails out of there and the riding is great. Sometimes, the river can be on the high side in the afternoons.
Your going to have a hard time finding water and electric hook ups in the mountains and have good riding. Most of the better riding in the Rockies will be primitive camping. Corrals are fairly common, and you'll occasionally find drinking quality water, put hardly ever find electrical. If you don't have enough potable water storage, get yourself a tank that will fit in the bed of your truck, and a generator. Primitive camping is not that tough.
The Wind River Range is awesome riding. Some of the best we've had. |

I know they have water, don't know about corrals. No electricity.

There is limited riding out of Brooks lake. Just a few trails go to the north. |

Most of the areas we ride out west here, it's cool enough you will not use your A/C at all. So you only need power for lights and cooking. Which are easily done with a generator. Most of the eastern side of the Wind Rivers are on indian land. They have a different set of rules about bringing your own horses. We ride in from the Western side. There are 5 main trail heads. Big Sandy, Bridger, ElkHorn, New Fork and Green River Lakes. None of which have any kind of developed campground. It's all primative camping. |

Grand Teton National Park, P.O. Drawer 170, Northwest region
Rex Hale Campground, Shoshone National Forest, Northwest region
Wapiti Campground, Shoshone National Forest, Northwest region
Rex Hale and Wapiti are north of Double Cabin. Not heard any reports of folks riding out of there. Have no idea of the trails in that area. |
