I did a search and did not come up with anything (probably didn't use the right terms  LOL) regarding what people put for the floor in the GN sleeping area.  We spent a leisurely day traveling to the nearest horse trailer dealer this weekend that has a good assortment of LQ trailers - new and used.  While I got some good ideas for my final layout, I noticed that 100% of the finished trailers had carpet up in the sleeping area.  Long, shaggy stuff - even in the $100K+ trailers.  What alternatives are there?  I realize that you don't want the mattress to slide around, but is carpet the only thing to use?  I had thought of painting the wood with a non-skid paint and laying down a rubber-backed bathroom carpet (easy to remove and shake clean).  Has anyone seen anything other than carpet?  Thanks.

I guess you could use the tacky stuff you put under carpet runners.  I think the carpet is used to give extra insulation.

It never gets very dirty in the bunk because your shoes are off.

We finished our older 3 H slant steel trailer 10 years ago, and put a foam
backed, kitchen carpet in the nose, and ran it down 18 inches or so butted up to wainscoating. Worked great. Just used that 3M heavy duty spray adhesive. Worked great, and still in place. Cheap for carpeting too( either Menard's or Lowes or Home Depot would carry it) Looks nice and wears well. The foam back is maybe 1/4" thick. You can just use a whisk broom to sweep it clean, if needed.Good luck!

a friend of mine had her carpet removed (it had gotten mildewed due to a water leak) and had a wood floating type floor put down. as far as i know, she loves it and it works well.
