I am curious about the horseback riding and camping in a few different locations in northern Minnesota.  I am wondering if anybody has been to, or knows about the following:

Chippewa National Forest - Cut Foot Sioux Horse Camp

George Washington State Forest - Stony Brook Horse Camp

George Washington State Forest - Togo Horse Camp

McCarthy Beach State Park

Taconite Trail

Hayes Lake State Park

Beltrami Island State Forest

What are the trails like?  What are the campgrounds like?  In some of these areas, I believe ATVs are allowed, and I'm wondering if they are heavily used.  I'm not opposed to ATV use, or encountering a few, but would rather not go to a place where they're buzzing by on the trail all day.

That whole area is buggy...till fall.

I have not been to these trails, but have friends who enjoy going there in the fall.
