We're looking to purchase a used EXISS with lq package in it, but are concerned with all the comments we've read and heard about the EXISS trailers falling apart. We want your opinion. Yep, you hear a lot of that. Mostly from a friend whose friend's best friend has a friend who said..... Usually the authors of those statements have never owned or used an Exiss. We have an 01 three horse "Event" with a Sierra weekender LQ. I was lucky, and after looking for three months, found it several states away. We are the third owners, and the most fortunate. The first two kept the trailer pristine, and we have had zero issues with mechanicals. It has been flawless, no leaks, good equipment, a lot of comfort and utility in a small package. We've wanted this model Exiss for some time, and are fortunate enough to have found exactly what we wanted. Last year we installed basically a copy cat LQ interior, in my friend's used Exiss. He bought a used dressing room model, expressly intending to update it with a LQ. It worked out well, and that couple is very pleased with the finished unit. There are leaking issues with any brand of trailer that has a LQ. As was well stated in another thread, the caulking is the issue, not the metal. $25 of polyurethane caulking and an hour's labour, will cure most problems for many years. At one time Exiss had some window issues. We had one poster, particularly vehement in bad mouthing Exiss as a result of a bad window. After contacting Universal, they then replaced the window at no cost, on a seven year old trailer. She amended her criticism and then offered rave reviews. But everyone who read the initial posting, was led to believe Exiss was a pile of junk. I would recommend an Exiss to anyone who is seeking a reliable, well built trailer at a reasonable price. I'm proud of mine and plan on a very long ownership. |
