| Our friends Russ and Kelley Heinbaugh at Cassville,MO lost two of their horses this past weekend due to lightening. "Sunrise" and "Shadow",Missouri foxtrotters,were in their pasture when lightening stuck a large oak tree that they were standing near or under.A third horse,"Cowboy",was also injured but is probably going to be OK. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers in the loss of their beloved trail companions.Kelley's husband Russ has a recent disability that may limit his riding in the future,and Shadow was an excellent horse for him.Understandably they are devastated after this tragic event and would appreciate your concern.Thanks. |

| They have the third horse Cowboy but are not sure as to his recovery potential yet.They also have a TWH rescue horse that is 4,he is slightly underweight but not by much at all,but has not had much riding time.Her husband is the one that they are seeking a suitable VERY broke replacement horse for because of his condition.Thanks for the encouraging comments and I am passing them on to the Heinbaugh's.

Location: Arkansas | Oh, I hate to hear that. Our sympathies to the family, and best wishes for the recovery of the surviving horse. Uncannily, at that same time, we (from west Arkansas) were camping and riding 35.5 miles west of there at Huckleberry Stables, where we had no bad weather at all.......but Arkansas was getting torn up by tornadoes..... |

| Right,and some came roaring across into SE MO not far from where we were camped at Big Creek at Hartshorn.Eminence was about to begin the CCTR that weekend,also,and a tornado was spotted at both Summersville,and at Winona south of Eminence.Bad day.We were all very lucky here compared to how it played out in Tennessee and other parts of the south where there were deaths. |
