Location: tx | What is the best way to insulate the horse area in an aluminum trailer? The dealer wanted $1500 to do a 2 horse slant. Crazy! I am hoping to do it myself with a little help. Thanks for any info. |

Location: tx | I would assume that it could be properly insulated with another material besides aluminum. I does not have to be fancy. |

Location: Broomfield, CO | I went and got 1 inch think styrofoam pannels at Home Depot and some aluminum tape... For $30 my trailer is insulated. AND I did it 2 years ago and it has still stayed up....HUGE HUGE difference in temp |

Location: Broomfield, CO | Yes I kind of threw tape everywhere, but it has stayed up very well. I cut slits in the side of the styro on the side that would be closest to the roof to help it bend. I cut out holes for the roof vents. Its NOT pretty but my horse do not bake in the summer. |

Location: Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... | Bailing wire and duct tape will fix anything! edited to add; Sometimes you need WD40 and a hammer too.

Location: Bloomington, IL. | I previously raced stock cars on dirt we used a lot of sheet alum to make and repair bodies for the cars. If you know someone in your area that races you can find 4x10 sheet alum. in many colors from $55-$75 a sheet. Part suppliers buy in bulk to cut prices and are stocking up for upcoming season. This is the same white alum used in our Kiefer trailer. |
