On the manufacturer's tag, it will be there listed in lbs for 1 axle......3500, 7000, etc depending on their capacity.  GAWR _____________.

Is there a way to tell if the tag is either absent or worn away?

The number of and size of the wheel lugs will give you a pretty good guess. How many wheel lugs do you have per wheel? What kind/size trailer is it? Wheel and tire size?

The weight capacity of the axle may also be written on or stamped on the axle underneath the trailer. Got a RV/trailer dealer nearby? Take it to them and have them take a look.
