Hi. I've been looking for a used horse trailer for several months and am having a hard time finding something. I was hoping maybe someone on here would have a lead or some ideas. I know the problem is that I'm very picky, and also suffering from the beer budget/ champaigne taste problem! I'm looking for a gooseneck, slant load either 3 or 4 horses. I don't need any kind of living quarters, and would like only a very small dressing room. I'd like the box length of the trailer to be as short as possible 18 feet for a total of 22 to 26 feet depending on if it's 3 or 4 horses. Features I would like the trailer to have: 1. All Aluminum. (I will be in the north) 2. Drop down windows that are reachable by a 5' 2" person. I'd also like windows on the butt side not plexiglass or stock. 3. A Ramp. 4. rumbar floor 5. must be at least 7' high and 7' wide and I'd prefer padded dividers with the slam latch feature. air flow dividers would be nice, too. 6. I'm hoping to get a used higher end model trailer that is well constructed and hopefully insulated. The most important thing, of course is that it be as safe as possible for the horses. 7. Of course I want all this and more for less than 15K. I'm willing to go as old as a 2003 model of something. I'd take something older or give up a couple of features if it is under 10K. 8. Oh yeah, my other pet peeve is the divider in the rear of the trailer that has to be removed. Aren't there any trailers out there with rear ramps that you can just open the entire back of the trailer without having to mess with taking out then replacing a big metal bar? I need to be able to open the back all the way to load the horses. 9. I know I'm picky, please be kind! I am serious, and I need to get a trailer within the month as I will be shipping the horses home from south carolina. |
