Location: tx | Hi, Somewhat new to the board .I have been looking for a warmblood size 2h straightload GN. Featherlite,sundowner,Shadow. Love the 4 star but they are a little out of my range. Does any one have any experience with one verses the other. Just trying to figure out which seems to be the better trailer for the dollar. thanks If you wish to send me a pm that is fine. Thanks |

Location: Farmington, IL 61531 | I have a Featherlite 8552 bumper pull two horse. This is a 7'6" wide and 7'6" tall slant load trailer with about a 4' shortwall dressing room. Overall this seems to be a good trailer. Any complaints I would have are more about design issues, rather than reliability or problems I have had with the trailer. I don't see too many of this model advertised for sale probably because this is considered a 'big horse' model by the manufacturer. Due to the size of the trailer it does catch more wind and therefore pulls a little harder than you might expect for a two horse trailer. Featherlite did make a 'big horse' trailer in a gooseneck but I don't know about the straight load option. I like the Featherlite trailers better than some of the other brands but there are definitely higher quality trailers on the market. I am very impressed with the workmanship I have seen on the Elite and 4 Star trailers. Paul |

Location: Munster, Ontario, Canada | I have an 04 Sundowner 777 w/ramp and 4'DR and totally love it. It is 7'6" high and 6'9" wide. I have had no problems with anything inside or out. Very tough and handles great, forget I have it behind me half the time. I have been through the monutains, across the prairies and in snow and ice and never any issues. Mine has the steel frame and aluminum skin, and don't mind that at all, very good for gravel roads that are rough, etc. I actually rode in the back once and the ride is very smooth and quite. |
