Location: bristol, va | My vehicles towing capacity is 5,000 lbs. I am purchasing a 2 horse trailer. This might be a stupid question but does the towing capacity mean thats what the vehicle with tow or does it mean you have to include the vehicles weight into the 5,000 lbs. Thanks, just trying to see if I can pick the trailer up with my vehicle or if I have to loan a truck. |

That is the total weight of the trailer, horses and tack combined. Your vehicle will also have a maximum tongue weight, of which the hitch is capable of supporting. This will be a different and lower figure, spelled out in your owner's manual. |
